Hello Hello!

2020 may be a new year, but some things should never change.

LIKE PASTA.

Pasta is one of my favorite meals- it is so versatile, customizable, and not to mention absolutely delicious!

Even though I have gone gluten free (read about that inthis post!), alternatives such as brown rice, lentil, and quinoa pastas have allowed me to continue eating all of the amazing pasta dishes I love!

Sometimes, when I am short on time, pasta and a simple jar tomato sauce is the easiest this I can whip up. While it is always ok and tasty, it is never NEXT LEVEL delicious.

SO, to fix this problem, I’ve created some tips to take your basic pasta and sauce from basic to brilliant!

These tips are not time consuming at all, which still makes your pasta and sauce a quick and extremely simple meal. They just make your pasta taste like pomodoro from an Italian restaurant! What’s not to love šŸ™‚

Are you ready for the tips?

First, you want to start by cooking your favorite pasta (mine is Jovial Foods Brown Rice Pasta), and heating up your favorite jarred sauce (one of my absolute favorites is the organic Classico sauce!)

While your pasta is cooking:

Add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. This makes your pasta a bit more flavorful!

In the pan with your sauce, add

  • 1 teaspoon of garlic (per serving)
  • 1 Tablespoon of coconut cream (scraped off the top of a coconut milk can
  • 1-2 teaspoons of the following spices (dried or fresh): basil, oregano, salt, pepper
  • a pinch of red pepper flakes (only if you like a little spice!)

Heat this up! Suddenly, your sauce has gone from typical to out-of-this-world!

Drain your pasta, and put back in pot. Add your sauce, along with 1-2 cups fresh spinach. Not only does this get extra greens in, it tastes so fresh and adds a new texture to the dish!

Toss pasta until evenly coated. Serve and enjoy! You just made yourself an Italian-restaurant-quality meal!
