Leafy greens have so many benefits to the body. They are super rich in fiber and micronutrients, and provide the body with vitamins, minerals, and disease fighting phytochemicals. Since they are so full of fiber, they help feel full for longer, with can help if you tend to overeat. They help grow and repair your muscles, and improve overall health and wellness. So, next time you make a smoothie or dish, throw in some greens! You won’t regret it!

All right, that was my health lesson for the day haha. Here is the recipe for the smoothie:

Ingredients:

2 frozen bananas

1/2 cup frozen mango

1/4 cup So Delicious unsweetened coconut milk (link here)

1-2 large handfuls of spinach

Toppings:

2 tablespoons frozen blueberries

1 teaspoon hemp hearts

1 teaspoon chia seeds

3 tablespoons oats

1 tablespoon raisins

1 teaspoon roasted peanuts

1 tablespoon Bobs Red Mill unsweetened coconut flakes (link here)

1/3 banana

Note: All toppings are optional and you can adjust to your preferences 🙂

Method:

Blend all ingredients of the smoothie together, using more/less milk depending on how thick you want it. For the toppings, combine the oats and coconut. Toast the mixture until coconut is golden-brown. Add the raisins and peanuts to the oat mixture. Top the smoothie with the oat mix, banana, blueberries, hemp hearts, and chia seeds. ENJOY!

That’s all for today! Remember to eat your greens, you won’t regret it! There are a million ways to mix them into your food, try it out sometime! What are you favorite ways to add more greens into your diet?
